Polymarket whale tracker: how to follow the biggest bets

A Polymarket whale tracker watches every big market's holders and reports when a large position opens, grows, shrinks or closes. Polymarket's data is public on the Polygon blockchain, so every bet can be seen; what matters is filtering it: by size, by how unusual the move is, and above all by whether the wallet behind it has a record worth following.

What counts as a whale

Size alone says little. A $50,000 buy in a $40 million election market barely moves it; the same buy in a $200,000 sports market is most of a side. Polkyo scores each move against the market it lands in and the wallet's own habits, so a move that is big for that market and unusual for that wallet ranks above one that is merely large.

Market makers and automated wallets also place large orders all day. Their size is liquidity, not a view. Polkyo marks wallets it classifies as automated or market making, so they can be left out.

How to track them

Polkyo does the watching; these are the steps to use it.

  1. Open the Whale radar for the big moves across every market, newest first, each scored for how unusual it is.
  2. Open a move's market to see both sides: who holds what, scored by track record, and how the smart money share has moved over the week.
  3. Open the wallet behind it to see its record: profit and loss, winrate over resolved markets, categories, and its other open positions.
  4. Star the markets or follow the traders you care about, and set an alert to hear about their next move.

What a whale move does not tell you

A big buy can be a hedge against a position elsewhere, a market maker's inventory, or a bet that is simply wrong. Polkyo's research measures where the price goes after buys of $25,000 or more: part of any rise is the buy itself moving the price. Treat a whale as a question to look into, not an answer.

Questions

Can I see who a Polymarket whale is?

Polymarket shows a username where the trader set one; otherwise a wallet is an address. Polkyo shows each wallet's record (profit, winrate, markets) so you can judge it without knowing who it is.

How fast does a whale move show up?

Polkyo reads holders of every liquid market continuously; a move appears once the trade is confirmed on chain and the next snapshot of that market is taken.

Is following whales profitable?

Not by itself. Polkyo's research page shows how often the side profitable wallets favour actually wins compared to what the price implied, by category and market size.
